- Six complexes within 30 minutes of Zakopane. Only Termy Zakopiańskie is in town, a 15-minute walk from Willa Storczyk.
- Price: an adult pays 79 to 115 PLN (18 to 27 EUR) for 2.5 to 3.5 hours. A family of four pays 224 to 285 PLN.
- Biggest: Termy Chochołowskie, but they are closed from 19 to 30 October 2026.
- Cheapest: Gorący Potok in Szaflary, 79 PLN for 2.5 hours on a weekday.
- Open until 22:00 almost everywhere, so they are perfect after a day in the mountains.
- Saunas are textile-free: no swimsuits, only a towel.
The Podhale region around Zakopane sits on hot springs, and in the last twenty years six large bath complexes have been built on them. The water is 32 to 38 °C, most complexes have outdoor pools with a view of the Tatras, and in winter sitting in hot water while snow falls around you is one of the best things you can do here. The complexes differ a lot, though, in size, price and who they suit.

Two things stand out. The gap between the cheapest and the most expensive ticket for a similar time is about 50 PLN per person. And almost all of them charge more at weekends and less online, so a weekday with an online ticket is the cheap way in.
Which one to choose
- Without a car: Termy Zakopiańskie, the only one you can walk to. One hour costs 54 PLN (online from 39 PLN), enough to warm up after a hike.
- With small children: Terma Bania, with a separate play zone, shallow pools and slides, and children up to 104 cm in for 1 PLN. Chochołowskie have the most attractions, but also the highest family prices.
- On a budget: Gorący Potok. The evening ticket from 18:00 to 22:00 costs 69 PLN.
- For saunas: Chochołowskie have the largest sauna area in the region (95 PLN for 3 hours on a weekday). Szaflary sell the sauna zone alone online from 62 PLN.
- For the view: Bukovina, on a hill facing the whole Tatra range, with the outdoor pools turned towards the mountains.
- For a whole day: an unlimited ticket pays off from about 4 to 5 hours in the water. Gorący Potok (109 PLN) and Chochołowskie or Bukovina (125 PLN on weekdays) are the cheapest.
Termy Zakopiańskie: the only baths in town
The former Aqua Park on Antałówka hill, ul. Jagiellońska 31, rebuilt as Termy Zakopiańskie. A play zone with pools and slides, a relaxation zone with jacuzzis, saunas upstairs, a salt cave and a bowling alley. It is the smallest complex here, but the only one within walking distance: 15 minutes from Willa Storczyk and 20 minutes from Krupówki. Open daily 9:00–22:00.
- 1 hour 54 PLN, 2.5 hours 87 PLN, unlimited 131 PLN. Online from 39, 69 and 109 PLN.
- Early (before 11:00) or late (from 20:00) 1.5 hours: 49 PLN online.
- Reduced prices for children 3 to 16 and seniors 60+. Under 3 free.
- Higher prices from 7 to 15 November and from 19 December. Tickets on termy-zakopianskie.pl.
Termy Chochołowskie: the biggest in Poland
In Chochołów, 18 km west of Zakopane, about 30 minutes by car. With 52 pools and almost 4,500 m² of water it is the largest complex in the country: pools with geysers and massage jets, a lazy river, a wave pool, water slides, a therapeutic zone with sulphur and brine water, a quiet zone for adults and a large sauna area with a view of the mountains. Open Sunday to Thursday 9:00–22:00, Friday and Saturday until 23:00.
Termy Chochołowskie are closed for modernisation from 19 to 30 October 2026 (only the normobaric chamber stays open). If you are visiting then, choose Bukovina, Bania or Szaflary.

Termy Bukovina: the view
In Bukowina Tatrzańska, 14 km from Zakopane through Poronin, about 25 minutes. Indoor and outdoor pools on a hill with the whole Tatra range in front of you. Open daily 9:00–22:00. The outdoor summer zone with slides is closed in autumn and winter.
- Bukovina charges by the minute: 30 minutes for 30 PLN (39 PLN at weekends), then 0.40 PLN (0.55 PLN) per minute. That works out cheaper for up to about 2 hours.
- 3.5 hours: 89 / 99 PLN. All day: 125 / 149 PLN. Family 2+2 for 4 hours: 249 / 279 PLN.
- Saunas are an extra 33 PLN. Towels are not for hire, only for sale, so bring your own.
- Children under 100 cm free. From 6 to 15 November 2026 weekend prices apply every day.
- Minibuses from Zakopane take about 30 minutes and stop at the baths. Prices on termybukovina.pl.
Terma Bania: for children, and after skiing
In Białka Tatrzańska, 20 km from Zakopane, about 30 minutes. The baths stand at the foot of the Kotelnica ski slopes and share their car park, so in winter they are the natural end of a ski day. Three zones: a play zone with slides and children's pools, a relaxation zone with outdoor thermal pools, and saunas (16+). Open daily 9:00–22:00. Online tickets are 16 to 30 PLN cheaper than at the desk.
- Play and relaxation zones for 2.5 hours: from 83 PLN online, 99–109 PLN at the desk.
- Family 2+2 (play zone, 3.5 hours): from 229 PLN online.
- Before 10:00, 2 hours: from 67 PLN online. After 16:00, 6 hours: from 77 PLN online.

Gorący Potok: the cheapest
In Szaflary, 16 km north of Zakopane on the road to Nowy Targ, about 20 minutes. A smaller complex with indoor and outdoor pools, slides, children's pools and an adults-only spa zone with saunas and granite tubs. It is the choice when you want to pay less and avoid the crowds of Chochołów. Open daily until 22:00.
- Adults: 1.5 hours 59 PLN, 2.5 hours 79 PLN, unlimited 109 PLN (weekends 65 / 85 / 119 PLN).
- Children up to 18 and students up to 26 have their own lower prices. Under 100 cm free.
- Evening 18:00–22:00: 69 PLN (75 PLN at weekends).
- Getting there: any minibus towards Nowy Targ (every few minutes, about 25 minutes), or the train to Szaflary station and 1.5 km on foot. Prices on goracypotok.pl.
Termy Szaflary: book early
A few hundred metres from Gorący Potok, so getting there is the same. Indoor and outdoor thermal pools, an 18+ sauna area and a restaurant. Szaflary use dynamic online prices: a ticket bought a week ahead is cheapest, the price rises closer to the day, and the desk is always the most expensive. Open until 22:00.

How to pay less
- Buy online at Bania, Szaflary and Zakopiańskie: 16 to 40 PLN less per person.
- Go Monday to Thursday. At Chochołowskie that saves 20 to 30 PLN per person.
- Use evening tickets. After a day in the mountains, two hours in the water is plenty: 49 PLN at Zakopiańskie, 62 PLN at Szaflary, 69 PLN at Gorący Potok, 75 PLN at Chochołowskie.
- Take a family ticket. At Chochołowskie a 2+2 costs 235 PLN instead of 320 PLN for four separate tickets.
- Watch the clock. Overstaying costs 0.50 to 1 PLN per minute, or 5 PLN per 10 minutes.
- Birthday? Chochołowskie, Gorący Potok and Szaflary let you in for 1 PLN on your birthday, with an ID.
Closures and price rises, autumn and winter 2026

November (outside 6–15 November) and the first half of December are the cheapest and quietest time for the baths, and often the first snow is already on the peaks. Over Christmas, New Year and the Polish winter school holidays (January to February), all complexes are busier, and Chochołowskie sometimes stop selling tickets by midday at weekends.
Rules that surprise visitors
In the sauna zones of all six complexes you go without a swimsuit, wrapped in a towel or sarong, and the saunas are usually mixed. This is normal in Poland, as in Germany or Austria. The minimum age is usually 18 (16 at Bania). The pools themselves are swimwear as usual.
- Swimsuit and flip-flops are required everywhere. Swim caps are not.
- Wristband payment: at the entrance you get a wristband or a watch-like tag. Drinks, snacks and extras are charged to it, and you pay when you leave. Losing it costs 150 PLN or more.
- Towels: hire costs 10 to 15 PLN, and Bukovina does not hire them at all. Bringing your own is easiest.
- Children's tickets: at Chochołowskie and Bania, bring a document with a photo for children, such as a passport or ID card.
- Sulphur water: after the therapeutic pools at Chochołowskie, take a shower, or the smell stays on your skin.
- In winter, bring a hat for the outdoor pools. At −10 °C your head gets cold faster than you think, and that is exactly when the baths are most beautiful.

How much do the thermal baths cost?

Can I get to the baths without a car?
Yes. Termy Zakopiańskie are within walking distance. Minibuses run from the Zakopane bus station to Bukowina, Białka, Szaflary and Chochołów in 25 to 40 minutes, and Szaflary also has a train station.
Do I need to wear a swimsuit in the sauna?
No. The saunas are textile-free: you go in wrapped in a towel, and swimsuits are not allowed. The pools are normal swimwear areas.
Are Termy Chochołowskie open in October?
They are closed from 19 to 30 October 2026 for modernisation. Before and after those dates they are open as usual.
